3 Techniques to Brew Strawberry Field for Full Flavor

Preeda's LTLH coffee has a unique character, offering a highly complex aroma and flavor. With just a little added technique, brewers can achieve the taste notes that the cupping team has written on the packaging.

Strawberry Field, which some may say is hard to brew, is actually quite easy with these 3 techniques:

Grind to a Medium-Fine Texture (700-900 microns) Grinding to a medium-fine texture helps extract more sugar from the coffee, which gives sweetness and body. If ground too coarsely, youll only extract the acids, leading to a sour taste. The brown color of coffee mainly comes from sugar molecules that develop during roasting. If your coffee turns out orange and cloudy, it means you're only extracting the sourness and not enough sugar. This will affect the berry taste. On the other hand, when you extract enough sugar, your coffee will have a rich brown color and a shiny, vibrant appearance.

For medium-fine grind size, we recommend:

CMD #18-20
Timemore C2 #16-18
(For espresso, try CMD #10-11)
Use Soft Water Preeda's LTLH coffee already has a great body, so you dont need high TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) water. Soft water with a TDS of around 50-120 ppm will help you extract the full flavor without overpowering the coffee. We recommend using water like 7-Eleven or Tip water, or other filtered water in this range.
Use Water Flow to Agitate the Coffee Grounds The force of water hitting the coffee grounds can help agitate them, improving extraction and dissolution. A technique we often use at Preedas is to hold the pour spout close to the coffee grounds at the beginning. As the water starts flowing, raise the spout gradually about 2 inches above the coffee. This will help the grounds circulate and mix well, ensuring proper extraction.

Also, avoid letting the coffee grounds dry out during the brewing process, as this can cause uneven extraction and lead to undesirable bitter tastes. A water temperature of 88-90°C is ideal for this method.
These 3 brewing techniques work perfectly with all Preeda's LTLH coffees. This is how we brew them every morning at the roastery.

Thank you for your continued support of Strawberry Field. Every review and comment is valuable to us as we continue to grow and improve at Preeda!
